Dancing in the Rain is inspired by the quote: “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass; it’s about learning to dance through the rain.” At any point in life, our world can become overcast in the shadows of great storms. We find ourselves overwhelmed in a downpour of hardships and difficulties, becoming increasingly difficult to escape. We are then given two options: become consumed by the great storm or master the art of dancing in the rain.

Our show explores this theme through the lenses of six different choreographers. Each has created pieces unique in tone, style, and interpretation of the theme. The dances will not focus solely on the storm(s) we have faced in the past two years but the storms we face in our lifetime. Dancing in the Rain is a testament to perseverance and determination and reflects the sentiment shared by each dancer of GMDT, we do not wait for the difficult times to pass, we fight through.
